Sourcing Furniture for Lombok and Bali: Why It Takes More Than One Stop

If you're furnishing a property in Lombok, there's a good chance the furniture itself has a more complicated journey than you'd expect: made in a workshop elsewhere in Indonesia, sold or shown through a dealer in Bali, and delivered to you in Lombok. Sourcing furniture this way means dealing with three separate relationships for one order, and it's a big part of why furnishing a villa here can feel more complicated than it should.

Why Production and Delivery Are Split Across Islands

A cluster of production regions elsewhere in Indonesia is where most of the country's serious teak and rattan craftsmanship actually happens, concentrating the workshops, the skilled woodworkers, and the raw material supply chains. Bali built the showrooms and export infrastructure to sell that craftsmanship to a global market. Lombok, meanwhile, has growing villa and hospitality demand but comparatively little local production or established retail presence of its own.

The result: furniture for a Lombok property has historically had to pass through, or at least be arranged via, Bali, even though neither the making nor the final delivery happens there.

What This Means in Practice

For a buyer, sourcing this way usually means:

Contacting a workshop or agent in the production region to understand what's actually possible in terms of design and material

Going through a dealer or showroom in Bali to see samples or place an order, which typically adds a markup for that middle step

Arranging separate delivery from Bali to Lombok, sometimes through a third party with no direct relationship to the maker

No single point of contact if something goes wrong at any stage of that chain

Each additional link adds cost, adds delay, and adds a place where communication can break down between what you ordered and what arrives.

How We Simplify It

We work directly with our own production workshops in Indonesia, run our own showroom in Kuta, Lombok, and handle delivery ourselves across Lombok and to Sumbawa. That means one quote, one point of contact, and one delivery, instead of three separate relationships across three stops. You can see and touch the materials in person at the showroom before committing, and know that the person quoting you is the same person responsible for delivery.
